Ollie 5 Miler New England Championship
Remember how for the past few years we've been wishing for a cooler day at Ollie? Got it today, low 60's and an added bonus of rain, which we didn't ask for, but we also didn't whine about.
For the Goon boys, Animal, Taz, Codfather, Brewski, Hillchecka, Spanky and Showtime (Dan Frank) all had tremendous races. Showtime receiving his official Goon name as we prepared to line up at the start and the power of his new big "G" singlet bringing Showtime a 4+ minute PR! For Goon girls, Mrs Triage and OCG also had PRs and fast legs Enforcer showed she's ready for her half-marathon while Goatie put the hooves to the pavement.

Mamacita - Goatie - CHaD, Hanover, NH, Half-Marathon
Mamacita's first race in the big, bold "G"... and she collects age division award!
Goatie, in "GTD" style for race (and big bold "G" postrace) followed close behind for 3rd in division and a 5 minute half-marathon PR.
Mr. Methane (in the porta-john), rounded out the GSR contingent with a division award also

Dan Frank, newest Goon, anxiously awaits his Goon name

Looking like a Marine in this photo from Bedford USATF 12K Championship in May, Dan is another long time disciple of Professor Fernando's training... and never afraid of the hard work it takes to achieve results.
Following discussion with the Goon Founders last night after GTD track, Dan is anxiously anticipating the ceremonial designation of his "official Goon name"... knowing that the Goon Founders flounder around, carefully deliberating on the task... keeping the tradition sacred.
Goatie's blog has photo from Ollie, the year Dan gained USATF New England Iron Runner status... we got the best jackets that year.

Codfather, Don Chapelle, joins official Goon status
Pictured with Goatie & Sonic Boom at Hollis Fast 5K, Codfather has been a follower of Professor Fernando's training for 15 years. Former high school superstar, he now ranks as one of the top senior males in the area ... now he officially joins the ranks of GSR... but we know he's been a natural Goon all along.
